I borrowed a rare video of Sting from my bud Scott called THE BIRTHDAY CONCERT which is filmed at the Hollywood bowl on the Soul Cages tour when Vinnie first got the gig. ANYWAY I got a kick out of one thing that Vinnie does on Message In A Bottle thats not hard so much as it is just COOL. It's when he hits his floor tom and china cymbal at the same time, me and my friends call it a GOOSH. SO during this tune Vinnie does the BIGGEST GOOSH EVER. It's so bad ass I made a little clip of it and even put it in slow motion for you guys. Windows Media, under a meg.

I am inspired. I am gonna have to muster up every last bit of self restraint not to put them in every song?.
Thanks for the clip. I just rewatched the Tokyo clip and I was wondering, am I narrow minded or did anybody else think that you had to wear a shirt to play jazz?

I have a video of this concert as well!! It is excellent! I would love to trade someone this concert for either Vinnie w/the Yellowjackets or the Chick Tokyo video. My email is [email protected].
Thanks

I happened to see that Vinnie does that all the time in the Modern Drummer video. Especially when he plays "Toast For Eli" -that tune almost consist of gooshes.
